Matt O’Brien
Matt O’Brien, co-founder and business director, drives the strategic direction for Cluster Interactive.
Matt started building song lyrics and guitar tabs websites during college. Such websites depend on advertisements for revenue, which means high levels of traffic are needed for profitability. Because of this, Matt’s focus was immediately drawn to search engine optimization, driving traffic to those sites. One of Matt’s first projects, SongLyrics.com, now has over 7 million unique visits per month.
In 2004, Matt founded V9 Design with a focus on usability, prioritizing function over form. He believes in the beauty of well-designed software with a user experience that is both satisfying and rewarding. In 2010, he joined forces with designer/developer Michael Eisenwasser to form Cluster Interactive Group.
Matt is currently studying philosophy in a graduate program at the University of Chicago, and is looking for a way to combine this with his web development skills. He enjoys hockey, traveling, philosophizing, and riding around on boats.
